On Water & In the Air Gauteng This is a great way to spend time in the outdoors with social distancing. The low season (1 Oct to 14 April) is summer time and we allow bass, bait, specimen carp, and fly fishing. High season (15 April to 31 Sep) is winter trout season and only fly fishing is permitted. We are eco-friendly, promoting catch and release of fish (although trout may be kept and paid for by arrangement). Sport fishing is a fun adventure for individuals, couples, and families. Fly-fishing is an art and clean (no grubby bait!). It is good exercise but you don’t have a high fitness level. The fishing equipment is available for hire, however you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Fishing flies or lures can be bought on-site. We often have fishing monitors on duty to provide guidance on the fishing rules/regulations and to assist with ensuring you have a wonderful experience. They will provide some basic fishing tips but if you want to learn more or have never fishing before then feel free to book one of our group or private fishing lessons. We believe in keeping the sport environmentally friendly so all fish caught must be released (And we teach guests the proper techniques required for correctly releasing the fish so that they do not get injured). Our group of three was very slow in our climb and Chizzy was very patient and helpful even though it took us longer to complete the hike than it should have. The views on Table Mountain and during the hike were amazing. We took tons of pictures and Chizzy indulged us by taking many photos. The abseil experience was awesome, too. The staff was so good at training us, getting our gear on and fitted, and making us feel comfortable with this experience even though we had never done it before. The abseil staff also took tons of pictures of us on our camera so we have so many great photos and memories. I highly recommend this combo hike and abseil experience. These boards are easy to catch waves with and make standing easier as they are stable. If you have a bit more surfing experience and want to use a regular epoxy/fiberglass board, kindly let us know at the time of booking. If you are unable to reschedule your booking, we will offer you two options: 1) a voucher to the same value paid valid for 1 year from the date of issue 2) a refund of 95% of the amount paid.
